Unless we go to the beach, our vacations are generally packed with activities as we try to get the most out of whatever part of the world we are visiting. Weekend trips are no exception. To determine where we stay, I map out all of the places we want to see, and then determine the best location that involves the least amount of driving. In this case, it was the cute little college town of McMinnville about 90 minutes south of Portland and an hour east of the ocean.

We found a converted studio cottage on homeaway.com which is unfortunately no longer available to rent. It was within walking distance of downtown McMinnville allowing us to walk home after an evening of wine tasting.
